Well, you could always bootcamp into windows, lol. OK, sorry for laughing, but THAT is exactly what PC users are telling you when they warn you. that favorite little program comes out and it's on PC! LOL.

But then the mac users always say they have all they need on their macs. But the problem will always exist that some cool little items/programs will NOT be developed for macs. They have created their own self fulfilling prophecy by encouraging designers to create some software for an obscure platform. They are parrots copying each other basically. And keep hearing how you need one and I never have for any music or video project. Also all the media and recording world running around thinking they need pro tools and a mac is a joke. Mac is nice, yeah, but it's not nicer than a great pc with windows 7. He was shocked at a mac twice as fast as his that cost 1/2 the price. And running Windows is awesome! And just for a fun experiement, I temporarily loaded leopard osx into it to show a friend with a mac. It's fast! Now apple brings out i7, but raises price to $2000 (still not as fast as mine). Since Oct 2008 I've had a 3.6ghz i7 machine that just buries any typical $1600 imac with core 2 duo. They cost double the price for 1/2 the speed. Seriously, people try to help them all the time by pointing out apple is 90% over hyped marketing and brainwashing with their ImAMac commercials. Instead poo poo on the mac users who expect everything to be created for mac. Version 5 was also in development before the site was abandoned.Yeah no Mac version poo poo on them.Bad attitude. The latest version as of July 2011 was 4.2.2.

It also has no audio or video conferencing abilities. Proteus does not support some features of the AIM network, such as embedded images, and has poor support for file transfers. However, unlike iChat, it has support for multiple networks, and can also group multiple conversations in one window using tabs. The interface of Proteus vaguely resembles that of Apple's AIM client iChat, although iChat uses the brushed metal aesthetic, while Proteus uses the standard Aqua appearance.
